First day in the village

Today, we traveled to the village which we were planning to work with. From our hotel, the village was about one and a half hours away. The village was beautiful. It felt as if we were back in the mountains of Colorado. The people who we interacted with were grateful for us to be there and I can say for our team, that we are incredibly blessed by them. We were able to play some games with the local children and we did some concrete work. Our goal is do our kids club tomorrow along with showing The Jesus Film in the afternoon. Please pray for all of us as we plan to do crafts, lessons, and games for these children. Pray that our message of the Gospel will be accepted by the people and that they will put their trust in Jesus. It is amazing to work with these brothers and sisters in Christ and I am very thankful for this opportunity. Thank you for your continual support and prayers.
P. S. Happy Birthday Dad! I miss you and mom a ton! And hi Jen!

Hola Amigos! Today we went to the village for the first time. The drive was much longer than expected but as Steve says “we have our stretchy pants on.” Haha.

When we got to the village everyone was so happy to see us. We had a special time of prayer, and the villagers told us how thankful they are that we are here to help and encourage them. After this, we started to mix and pour cement into cinder blocks to make the outside of the cistern. The work for the day was light, so we got to play soccer and hang out with some kids. This was super fun and the kids were so much better at soccer than us gringos. 😂

So far this trip has been both challenging and rewarding. Hebrews 12:1 says ““Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”
God is faithful and we are so blessed to be able to serve these people. Thank you all for your prayers. Please continue to pray for us that we will continue to run with perseverance looking to Jesus. Also, pray that we will have opportunities to love everyone we meet.
P.S. love you mommy and daddy! 😘
