Farewell to the village

Hello there everyone! This is Cuinn, and I’m going to be taking over the blog today. Today was our last day at the village, and we got a lot of work done on the cistern. We spent a lot of time mixing and pouring concrete, and making trips down to the river to collect water for the project. We worked hard on this cistern all week long, and though we didn’t get to see it completed, working with the locals and seeing the hard work and sacrifices that they make every day in order to bring clean water to the village was truly inspiring. While working on this cistern over the course of the week, I learned to have a good attitude about everything I do. Whether I was caked in concrete after pouring or standing shin high in a polluted river to collect water, having the right attitude made every task a good time. Leaving the village for the last time was very bittersweet. We all prayed together with the locals. Make sure to keep them in your prayers as they are working hard to finish the cistern before the rain season. This evening we enjoyed a delicious steak dinner before saying goodbye to our beloved bus driver, Pablo, for the last time. He has been with us since the beginning, and spent many long hours driving us to the places we needed to be. Please pray for us over the last couple days of the trip, as we will be traveling a lot. Pray that we would have safe travels, both on the road and in the air. Thank you so much for reading this blog and keeping us in your prayers. See you soon!

Hey everyone!
Today was a bittersweet day as it was our last day in the village. In the morning, most of us went to the third school to host the kids club. Because this was our third school and fourth day putting on the kids club, everyone was more comfortable with the kids and had a great time. Jake and Captain each shared their lessons with the kids, and the Gospel was conveyed clearly with each lesson. Afterwards, we did crafts and played a game of handball with against the kids. It took all the skill from our team to even tie the group of 6 to 12 year olds. After the kids club, we went to work on the cistern again. This time it was much easier, except I don’t know if it was because the workload was less or that we knew what we were doing better. We didn’t quite finish the project, but I know it will be finished, seeing the work ethic of the locals we worked alongside with. Before we left, we prayed and said goodbye to the villagers. Even though there was a language barrier between most of our team and the villagers, it was sad to leave them because of the bond we established. At the same time, it was a time of joy to see how much this will help them and how much they love the Lord. We then left the village and headed to Xela. We ate at the steakhouse their and got to see Dr. Hugo. Thank you all so much for your continued prayer for this trip! Please continue to pray for this trip, that we will have safe travels for the rest of this trip, that the cistern will be functional and help the village, and that some may come to know the Lord. Thank you all!
